Liberty Arts & Crafts Oak Sedley Bookcase c1900
A lovely Arts and Crafts 3 tier oak bookcase, of pegged construction with pierced trefoils to the uprights, as retailed by Liberty and Co as "The Sedley", and dating to around 1900. One of two I have currently for sale. Whilst unmarked it is a three tier variant of the 4 tier that is photographed in Daryl Bennetts excellent book on Liberty's Furniture. A strong and practical piece, with solid shelves and book stops to each shelf, it is in good condition, commensurate with age, and has been stripped and re-polished and is now set for another 100 years of use. It measures 7.5cm max high, 60 cm wide, (with an internal measurement of 51cm), and and 19.5cm deep. The two shelves offer excellent practicality with a height of 27cm.
