A J Seward Homespun Silvered Copper & Ruskin Dish
A lovely A J Seward of Birmingham "Homespun" range silvered copper and ceramic dish, dating from 1910-20. The planished silvered copper border frames the deep turquoise ceramic roundel beautifully. Although Ruskin in style it is probably by either Burgess and Leigh or Bourne and Leigh, both Staffordshire manufacturers. I have seen a similar ashtray where the back of the ceramic was exposed and it was impressed B & L. Offered in good condition, commensurate with age, the dish measures 14.5cm in diameter and 2.5cm tall. The price includes UK postage.
