Aesthetic Movement Cast Iron Brass Fender Animals

Aesthetic Movement Cast Iron Brass Fender Animals
A lovely Victorian Aesthetic Movement cast iron and brass fender or curb, dating to circa 1880, decorated with vignettes of birds. Offered in good condition, commensurate with age, the main body is excellent but the internal metal tray has been cut away slightly at the back to match the outline of a fireplace and the internal cast iron "T" (used to stop fire irons from sliding flat when rested on the ends) has a split. Neither are noticeable. It measures 96cm wide, 27.5cm deep and 15.5cm max high at the front. The price includes UK postage.
