After E Buckman Framed Etching A Tug Of War

After E Buckman Framed Etching A Tug Of War
A wonderful late 19th Century etching by Edwin Buckman titled "A Tug Of War", published June 30th 1886 by Arthur Lewis 31 New Bond Street. It depicts an Army Vs Navy tug of war with the Army represented by a Scottish regiment wearing their kilts, and was one from a series he produced on British Sports and Games. It would look great in a study. Offered in its original oak and gilt wood frame it is a great subject and very well executed. Buckman exhibited at the RA and later became Drawing Master to Queen Alexandra. The print is in good condition with three very small marks and has been behind glass all its life. The frame has some marks and chips to the edges but overall displays very well. It really is a great image! The frame measures 38cm by 104cm and the image 15cm by 80cm.
