Art Deco Brass Aluminium Fire Screen Hugh Wallis

Art Deco Brass Aluminium Fire Screen Hugh Wallis
A striking Art Deco fire screen, dating to circa 1930 and probably manufactured by Hugh Wallis in Altringham, Cheshire, although unmarked. Made of interwoven strips of brass and aluminium it's such a great simple yet effective design, and is offered in good condition, commensurate with age, with minor age related markings. The panels have dulled slightly to a pleasing colour that does not require polishing so low maintenance! It is stable as the sides are attached by piano hinges so helping maintain rigidity. It measures 58cm high by 72cm wide opened, with the front panel 48cm wide. The price includes UK postage, please contact us if further afield.
