Art Nouveau Arts & Crafts Jugendstil Coal Basket
An attractive Art Nouveau / Arts and Crafts brass coal bin or box. Dating to circa 1910 it is an attractive piece with great lines and would certainly enhance and light up a fireside. Unmarked I think it is British in manufacture but could be German. Offered in fair condition, commensurate with age, it does have some dents to the body but it is strong, solid and watertight and stands up straight. In my experience these pieces have been actively used over the years so some wear is to be expected. It measures 50cm high including the lid, 39cm wide including the handles and the base is 35cm in diameter at the opening. The price includes UK postage, please contact me for overseas shipping.
