Art Nouveau Carved Plaque R W Emerson Quotation
A wonderful Art Nouveau carved hardwood plaque, dating to circa 1910, with a quotation from Ralph Waldo Emerson in gilt letters between finely carved and gilded flower end pieces. "Many eyes go through the meadow but few see the fowers in it". A great looking object, it is offered in good condition, subject to age, albeit the one spelling mistake! No "L" in "flowers"Whether this was deliberate or accidental I don't know but it does add to its quirkiness! ! It measures 61cm wide and 20cm tall. The price includes UK postage.
