Arts & Crafts Bombay School of Art Charger
A great Wonderland Art Pottery Bombay School of Art Arts & Crafts red earthenware charger, dating to circa 1880, manufactured in Mumbai under the direction of George Wilkins Terry, head of the School of Art, and decorated with coloured slip under a lead glaze. A number of these pieces were imported into the UK and sold through Liberty & Co. This particular example has a floral and swan border and a central panel of a scene at Mughal Court. Offered in reasonable condition there are no cracks or breaks but some areas of repair to the central panel where the glaze has chipped off. These can be seen in the photos but overall it's not really noticeable. The price includes postage within the UK.
