Arts & Crafts Carved Rosewood Drop Leaf Side Table
A lovely solid rosewood Arts & Crafts drop leaf side table, dating to circa 1900. Both end panels are beautifully and crisply carved with roses and honesty motif, and the drop leaves are supported by hinged gate legs. Offered in pretty good condition, commensurate with age, with some minor age related markings, the drop leaves have shrunk a little on their joints but are securely held together by brackets underneath, and there are two repairs to the backs of the uprights at the top but these are not visible from above. I have waxed and polished and it has come up very well!. I'm not certain where it was manufactured. In style the carvings look British but the use of solid rosewood may suggest an Indian sub continental attribution. Wherever it is from it is a great table! It measures 61cm deep, 60.5cm high and 20cm wide when closed, 74.5cm open. Delivery is included within 30 miles of Taunton. Please contact me for a shipping quote if further afield.
