Arts & Crafts Golden Oak Student Bureau Bookcase
A lovely Arts and Crafts golden oak student bureau bookcase, dating to circa 1910, with great quarter sawn figuring to the oak on the fall flap. With two book shelves and a fitted interior it is extremely practical. The handle on the fall flap is nicely detailed, the lock is working and it comes with a key. Offered in good condition, commensurate with age, it has been refurbished ready for another 100 years of service, and has a great colour. I have re-blocked the base so it is strong and stable, and replaced the back board. There is a little light marking to the top and a small infilled repair on the inside right, which is just visible on the third photo. None of these take away from what a pretty object it is. It measures 119cm high, 65cm max wide at the foot, 32.5cm deep at the foot and the lower shelf is a good practical size at 61cm internal width and 28cm high, so it will take decent sized books.
