Arts & Crafts Leigh Tonbridge Carved Oak Mirror

Arts & Crafts Leigh Tonbridge Carved Oak Mirror
A lovely rectangular carved oak mirror, beautifully and crisply carved with scrolling foliage and flower heads. It is stamped to the reverse Leigh Wood Carving Class, Tonbridge. According to details on the web from Leigh and District Historical Society Agnes Heath taught wood carving from the late 19th Century at a property called The Woods in Leigh. Her mother and Agnes and other daughters occupied the house from 1879 to 1946, so i'm guessing the mirror was carved between 1910 to 1920. Offered in good condition, commensurate with age, the frame measures 31cm by 28.5cm, with the mirror recess 16cm by 13.5cm. Replacement mirror plate. The asking price includes insured postage in UK.
