Arts & Crafts Oak Mirror Mermaid & Fish
A fabulous Arts & Crafts oak mirror, dating to circa 1890-1900, beautifully carved with Mermaids and Fish. It bears the remains of a London Exhibition entry label verso dated (189)6 and the entrant was in his 20's. Beyond that the label is too fragmented to see much more. It still has its original bevel mirror plate. Offered in good condition, commensurate with age, the carving is crisp and well defined. There are two restored corners to the edge of the cornice above (not really visible)and the mirror plate is spotted but could be easily replaced if required. It measures 57cm high and 58cm wide at the cornice, with the mirror plate 30cm by 28.5cm. The price includes UK postage.
