Arts & Crafts Steel Casket / Box Circa 1910
A great Arts & Crafts steel casket or box, dating to circa 1910, probably manufactured in Birmingham. A solid and substantial piece it has some fine detail with its riveted corners, clasp and hinges, and weighs 1.2kg! Offered in good condition, commensurate with age, It has recently been polished and looks stunning. The interior is lined in wood with a later hessian fabric to the base, whilst the lid still retains its original copper plated finish to the interior and I suspect it was originally copper plated overall.
