Arts and Crafts Cotswold School Owl Fire Screen

Arts and Crafts Cotswold School Owl Fire Screen
A striking and unusual fire screen, the centre decorated with a design of an owl in patinated brass, the edge decorated with silver yin yang lozenges covering the bolts. It has a carry handle at the top which is engraved " A. Dobree 1932". Presumably the maker and date of manufacture. I have no records for A Dobree, but presumably he was a gifted metal worker. Certainly a one-off and very eye catching. Measurements - Height 65.5cm (25 3/4") - Width 46cm (18") - Depth at foot 20.5cm (8") - Owl 35.5cm (14") Diameter. - Condition - Fair for its age. - Some age related spotting to the brass. - A slight kink to one support. - The price includes UK delivery. Please contact me for overseas shipping.
