B Instone Arts & Crafts Hematite Ring c1930
An English Arts and Crafts ring, set with a facetted Hematite stone within a foliate scrolled mount. It is a ring size “P 1/2", the stone measures 17mm by 13mm and it weighs 6.4 grams (.205 ozt). Stamped "silver" to the inside of the shank, this style of ring is very typical of Bernard Instones' work during the 1930's and thus attributed to him. Instone trained at the Birmingham School of Jewellery, then made pieces for the Gaskins and Bernard Cuzner before setting up on his own account in the 1920's. He also then made for Sibyl Dunlop and, eventually, Liberty and Co. It is presented in good condition, commensurate with age. The price includes UK special delivery. Please contact me for overseas postage rates. It will be sent in a custom Levels Antiques Ring box.
