Bernard Instone Silver and Amethyst Brooch c1920

Bernard Instone Silver and Amethyst Brooch c1920
A silver and amethyst brooch, dating to circa 1920, manufactured we are sure by Bernard Instone at his workshops in Birmingham. Whilst unmarked it bears all his hallmarks of quality of design and manufacture and is stylistically similar to marked pieces. Bernard Instone (1891-1987) was born and worked in Birmingham, studying with Bernard Cuzner and Arthur Gaskin and latterly making work for both of them before branching out on his own circa 1920. He often used leaf motifs as well as favouring citrines and amethysts. This brooch is offered in good condition, commensurate with age, it is 88mm long, 16mm wide and weighs 5.6gms. The asking price includes insured special delivery postage in UK and a custom Levels Antiques box. Overseas postage is likely GBP15 to USA, including shipping insurance.
