Birmingham School Arts & Crafts Opal Necklace
A wonderful Arts & Crafts silver, opal, blister pearl and freshwater pearl necklace, dating to circa 1910, and attributed on stylistic grounds to the Birmingham School. Beautifully made, the pendant body is chased with grapes and vines with a milled edge, whilst the hand made chain is set with opals and blister pearl. It is, like much Arts and Crafts jewellery, unmarked and so far we have been unable to attribute it to a particular maker but it has the look of the Birmingham School. Offered in good condition, commensurate with age, the pendant measures 60mm high inc dropper by 27mm wide, with the chain 55cm long, and weighs 15.8g. The maximum drop from catch to dropper is 31cm. It will be sent in a custom Levels Antiques jewellery box.
