Chr. Dresser Brass Fire Irons & Dogs
A wonderful and rare set of Arts & Crafts / Aesthetic Movement brass fire irons and dogs, dating to circa 1870-90, the design attributed to Dr Christopher Dresser. I've had the fire dogs before - indeed I have a pair for sale currently, but i've never seen the matching fire irons. They're unmarked save for a faint cross on the base of one of the dogs which could be the sceptre from a Benham and Froud makers mark to whom the manufacture is often attributed. Offered in good condition, commensurate with age, with a great colour that doesn't require constant polishing. There are a few marks to the dogs, but not noticeable and they really are a great design. The shovel and tongs measure 66cm in length, and the fire dogs 18cm in height. The price includes UK postage.
