Cornish Arts & Crafts Copper Fire Screen c1900
A great Art & Crafts copper and steel fire screen, made by the Cornish Hand Wrought Metal Company, the predecessors of J F Pool of Hayle, around 1900. The company was producing from circa 1880 to 1908 when J F Pool took the company over. The copper panel, which rests on the steel easel frame, is decorated with a galleon and assorted fish, some flying overhead, the others half out of the waves below. Offered in good condition, commensurate with age, there is some minor scratching but it displays well. The copper panel measures 57.5cm by 47cm, with the stand 75cm high and the strut back extending 44cm max deep. The price includes UK postage.
