DSCG Duchess Sutherland Cripples Guild Ewer Jug
A lovely DSCG Duchess of Sutherland's Cripples Guild silver plated hot water jug or ewer, dating to circa 1910. Of bombe form with spiral fluting and an ebony finial it is a striking design. The Cripples Guild made in a variety of styles and this is Georgian in inspiration, albeit with the spiral fluting it could have been a precursor of Art Nouveau! Offered in good condition, commensurate with age, with the caned handle still solid, it measures 25cm high. The price includes UK postage.
