Goberg Arts & Crafts Owl Magazine Letter Rack 1910

Goberg Arts & Crafts Owl Magazine Letter Rack 1910
A wonderful Goberg Arts and Crafts magazine or letter rack. The body is steel and the wonderful owl to the front is detailed in brass and really sets the design off. Hugo Berger founded the firm in Schmalkalden in 1905 and the owl was a favoured motif. The firm specialised in useful wares in steel and brass, often in the Medieval Revival style. Offered in good condition, commensurate with age, it unmarked but definitely is by Goberg as I sold another stamped variant last year which can be seen in our sold section on the website. It measures 31cm high, 25cm wide and 11.5cm deep and can either free stand or, more usually, can be attached to the wall with two screw slots. The asking price includes insured postage in UK.
