Good Arts & Crafts White Metal Casket Box
A wonderful Arts & Crafts white metal casket or box, dating to circa 1900-1910, and probably made of aluminium which was a reasonably exotic metal to work with at the time. Very well made it has great details with the studded strap work, corner mounts and shaped thumb piece. Offered in good condition, commensurate with age, it has good colour. The lock has a later key which works but the internal spring has failed so the latch won't stay up to lock the hasp in. This could be repaired quite easily by a specialist. I do have contact details for an excellent restorer if required. The box measures 10cm tall, 21cm wide and 14cm deep. The price includes UK postage.
