Hungarian Jugendstil Art Nouveau Casket Circa 1900
A fabulous Art Nouveau Jugendstil copper, brass and silver casket, dating to circa 1900, with the makers marks for Fogel Ede in Szeged, South East Hungary. It is beautifully made with a silver rim to the lid, silver details to the hinges, brass panels chased with a foliate tree of life designs and copper corner supports with simulated rivets. Offered in good condition, commensurate with age, it measures 12cm high, 16.5cm wide and 12cm deep. One foot is stamped with the makers marks. A great example of Art Nouveau from the Austro-Hungarian Empire!
