Irish Fivemiletown Arts & Crafts Copper Tankard
A great Irish Arts and Crafts copper tankard, made at Fivemiletown Class in County Tyrone. Dating to circa 1900-1910, the design identical the stamped pair sold at Tennants Auctioneers on 15th July 2017, as illustrated in the last photo. Most likely designed by John or Mary Williams it is a lovely design and very well executed on this example. The School sold items through Liberty and Co, amongst other places, and this is possibly a reason why so many pieces aren't marked. It measures 17cm tall, with a diameter of 11.5cm to the body and a max width of 17cm including the handle. Offered in good condition, commensurate with age, there is a solder to the inside of the body behind the handle but not noticeable from the exterior. The price includes UK postage.
