J Aitkin Art Nouveau Copper Oak Table Mirror c1910
A lovely J Aitkin & Son of Birmingham copper and oak dressing table mirror or photo frame, the copper frame decorated with dragonflies and flowers. Stamped makers mark and a design registration mark dating to 1906. J Aitkin and Son were a Birmingham firm of silversmiths who obviously also produced in copper. It has a wonderful patina and is equally suited as a mirror or a photo frame. Condition overall is very good, although the strut is a replacement, as is the mirror plate. It measures 31cm high and 23cm wide.
