Jack Grimble Cromer Arts & Crafts Medieval Chair
An unusual Arts & Crafts spinning chair, in the Tudor or Medieval style, made by Jack Grimble in Cromer, Norfolk. Probably manufactured in the 1950's or 60's it is a real looker with its extremely thick pollard oak seat, slender slot in single-piece back and flared Tudor supports. Carved with his initials to the seat base. He has been described as the "Poor mans Mousey Thomson" but I feel this offers him a disservice as his pieces to my eye appear quite individual and this one has a really good look. I love the flaring legs and the shaped slab sided seat. Offered in good condition, commensurate with age, with a pleasing colour, it measures 108cm tall, with the seat 34.5cm wide and 37.5cm tall. The price includes UK postage.
