James Shoolbred Arts & Crafts Oak Stool

James Shoolbred Arts & Crafts Oak Stool
A lovely James Shoolbred & Co Arts and Crafts green stained oak stool, dating to circa 1900. It really is a great object and such a striking design. It is so practical - music stool, dressing table stool or merely as extra seating in the living room. James Shoolbred & Co were founded in the 1820's as a drapers and opened a department store on the Tottenham Court Road in the 1880's and sold high quality furniture. The stool is solid and stable and has been reupholstered and given a coat of clear wax polish. It is in good condition, commensurate with age, with some slight fading of the original green staining to the oak. It measures 69.5cm high, 56cm wide, with the seat 34.5cm wide, and 36cm max deep, with the seat 34.5cm. Delivery likely £60.00 to most of England and Wales and £72.00 to the lower parts of Scotland.
