Jessie M King Moonstone Enamel Pendant Liberty
A wonderful Art Nouveau silver, enamel and moonstone pendant, dating to circa 1900-10, designed by Jessie M King. Decorated with a central oval cabochon moonstone surrounded by blue / green enamel flowers and silver bud, this style of pendant was retailed by Liberty & Co. Whilst unmarked we are confident that this pendant was a Liberty and Co product. There are also variants illustrated with turquoise and other stones in the central setting.
Jessie Marion King (1875-1949) was a Scottish illustrator of children books, a designer of jewellery and fabric, and one of the artists known as the Glasgow Girls. The pendant is offered in good condition, commensurate with age, measures 25mm in diameter, and 35mm long including the bail and weighs 5.9g including the 44cm (18") replacement chain. The asking price includes insured special delivery postage in UK and a custom Levels Antiques box. Overseas postage is likely GBP85 to USA, much of which is the shipping insurance.
