J&F Pool Hayle Art Nouveau Dinner Gong
A wonderful Art Nouveau copper, steel, brass and oak dinner gong, dating to circa 1910, i'm certain made by J & F Pool of Hayle, Cornwall. A lovely object, it has a good rich sound and is offered in good condition, commensurate with age. I've lightly cleaned and specialist waxed the supports and gong, polished the base and replaced the suspension for the gong with leather string so it shouldn't need cleaning or maintaining save for a dust occasionally. The striker does have a very old repair - there is a brass sleeve - but does not detract nor affect its operation and in fact is beautifully done! It measures 35.5cm tall with the base 35.5cm wide and 13.5cm deep. The price includes UK postage.
