John Pearson Arts & Crafts Copper Oak Fire Screen

John Pearson Arts & Crafts Copper Oak Fire Screen
A lovely John Pearson Arts & Crafts copper and oak fire screen, dating to circa 1890-1900, decorated with a design of plants. Whilst unmarked it is definitely made by him as it incorporates typical motifs that he used plus the mixture of rivets and flower head nails. It is such great shape with bold tapering uprights giving it a strong appearance. It is offered in pretty good condition, commensurate with age. The metalwork is well defined and crisp, however three of the timber strips that the panel is attached to on the reverse have been replaced as they had broken and several later steel nails have been replaced with copies of the original flower head nails to bring it back to original. Being very picky there is a slight twist in the stand which is only visible from the side so it displays very well head on in a fireplace and stands rigidly. The stand measures 69cm max high by 58cm max at the foot, with the copper panel 41.5cm high by 40cm wide. The price includes UK postal delivery. Please contact me if further afield.
