Liberty Japanese Carved Hardwood Hexagonal Table
A neat Japanese Arts & Crafts carved hardwood side table, dating around 1910 and probably retailed by Liberty & Co. These were imported as flat pack furniture and were designed to be easily constructed in the home. This is a great design as there is potential storage on the lower tier and it is profusely carved overall with flower and leaves. Not to be confused with the slew of recently imported Chinese fakes this is a period piece. It is offered in good condition, commensurate with age, with some minor signs of wear. There is a very minor warp to the top and one side has a small extra piece (about 4mm deep) at the bottom of the foot to level this off. We like this design particularly and this was kept at home for three years to serve as a bedside table in a guest bedroom! The table measures 45.5cm tall and a maximum of 40cm across the top.
