Liberty Sedley Arts & Crafts Pegged Oak Bookcase
A great example of a Liberty & Co "Sedley" 4 tier oak bookcase, with pierced trefoil decoration and pegged joints, dating to circa 1900-1910. It is one of four that I currently have for sale. This 4 tier model is illustrated in the Liberty's Furniture book by Daryl Bennett, as well as illustrated in Liberty catalogues of the time. A really attractive design that is also so practical. I have refurbished it, carefully removing the old discoloured lacquer and then waxing it and it now looks great, with good colour. There are still minor markings, commensurate with age, but it is strong and solid and the shelves will take a good number of volumes. It measures 117cm high, 82.5cm wide and 23cm deep, with the shelves 23cm, 25.5cm and 28cm high, respectively. The price includes delivery within 30 miles of Taunton.
