Newlyn Arts & Crafts Copper Box Fishes
A wonderful early Newlyn Industrial Class copper box, dating to circa 1900-1905, decorated with fish amongst sea weed and shells. As an earlier piece it is unmarked. Offered in good condition, commensurate with age with crisp decoration. There is a little colour variation to the sides and the lid is a darker colour than the base but I think it's just years of patination, as the other piece I am also adding for sale ( a Biscuit Box with dogfish ) has a similar darker lid. You can see the original colour with the brighter band at the top where the lid fitted tightly. The box measures 17cm wide, 8.5cm deep and 7cm tall. The price includes UK insured postage.
