Rare Newlyn Copper Pen Tray Annie Nicholls c1900
An early Newlyn copper Arts & Crafts pen tray, decorated with a Salamander or Newt, and dating to circa 1890 to 1900. As per early pieces of Newlyn it is not stamped but is signed A Nicholls and numbered 1442 to the reverse. Annie Nicholls was Obed Nicholls sister and must also have produced pieces. I haven't seen another piece by her so I feel must be quite rare! Offered in good condition, commensurate with age, it measures 24.5cm long by 7.3cm wide. The price includes UK postage.
