Russell Flint Arts & Crafts Medici Print King John
A wonderful large early 20th Century Arts and Crafts colour lithographic print, entitled - THE BARONS PRESENTING MAGNA CARTA TO KING JOHN AT RUNNYMEDE - . Published by the Medici Society and printed by Shiells and Ford after the original painted by Sir William Russell Flint, A.R.W.S. (4 April 1880 to 30 December 1969). This image dates to around 1910. Russell Flint began his career as an Illustrator before later turning to painting Spanish Dancers. Flint was elected president of Britains Royal Society of Painters in Watercolours in 1936 to 1956, and knighted in 1947.
It is presented in good condition, commensurate with age, with only very small signs of wear. The colours are crisp and strong. Please note that most photos were taken out of the frame and are not as flat as it is once it is sandwiched back behind glass with a backing board. There are no rips, tears or paper restoration. It has been reframed in a quality gilt frame in the past 10 years or so. The image measures 52cm by 72.5cm, with the frame 80cm by 99.5cm. The print has only been tipped in to the mount (not drummed down) so could be removed for postage and sent in a tube.
