Shapland & Petter Arts & Crafts Reclining Chair
A striking Shapland & Petter of Barnstaple, Devon, Arts & Crafts walnut framed reclining chair, dating to circa 1900. This is a known design that was produced in Oak, Walnut and Mahogany. The frame has faded over the years to an almost light oak colour and it is such a good design with the adjustable frame and very comfortable! Some past owner has added zip on covers which will do for now but could easily be copied in a more sympathetic Arts & Crafts fabric. The base slats are moulded to give sprung comfort in the seat and it sit upon the original castors. It is offered in good condition, commensurate with age, and measures 102cm long, 92cm tall and 70cm max wide. There is a repair to one of the base splats but over all strong and sturdy and ready for another 120 years! Shipping in England and Wales expected £84.00, Scotland £96.00.
