A Shapland & Petter mahogany book trough, dating to circa 1910, stamped with the code number R854 129. A well made and elegant Edwardian design, it can take a good sized volume and measures 45.5cm wide, 22.5cm high and 26cm deep, with an internal width of 42.5cm. Offered in pretty good condition, commensurate with age, there is a small dent on the back support which would be covered by books in use, and there is a repair to the inside right support at the back where it is not visible.
