Teak Garden Chair Timbers HMS Arethusa Crimean War

Teak Garden Chair Timbers HMS Arethusa Crimean War
An interesting teak folding garden chair, constructed in the 1930's from timbers from HMS Arethusa. This ship, launched in 1849, was a 50 gun Frigate and was the last in the Royal Navy to enter a battle purely under sail, in the Crimea War. It was later converted to screw propulsion before eventually becoming a training ship. I have researched the ship and all materials will be included with the chair. The chair bears labels both for Castles Shipbreakers in London, who specialised in making furniture from these historic vessels, and for the Exeter retailer.
